1. JETTED TUDOR MANOR HALL - 1” or 1/2” SCALE
Sue & Eamonn O’Rourke
9am-9pm - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
$680/$950
The King is Dead!!! - it's 1509, Henry VII has died and his youngest
son, Henry, is about to embark on his famous reign. England is a
more settled place than it has been for decades and is currently
enjoying a bit of a building boom - those were the days! Typical of
the period for the upwardly mobile is this jettied manor house. Two
wings flank a Great Hall with a trussed ceiling and the latest in
wooden wall paneling. A staircase and gallery give access to the
upper stories. To one side of the Great Hall is a jettied wing with
a kitchen on the ground floor and a solar above, the other wing has
two chambers, the ground floor room has 2 wood paneled walls and the
master bed chamber is on the upper floor. Running the length of the
building are a further 3 attic chambers which are accessed from the
first floor. There are fireplaces in 5 of the rooms - perfect for
keeping your little people warm. The kitchen has a stone flagged
floor and the other rooms have dark oak stained floor boards.
Although this is a demanding class, a lot of the donkey work has
been done leaving you free to get straight on with learning,
tackling and enjoying the finishing techniques used in creating this
impressive manor house. Learn how to create a wooden trussed
ceiling, realistic Tudor wooden paneling, a flagstone floor using
spackle - just a few of the techniques used. For detailed
photographs of this workshop please visit our website
www.orourkeminiatures.com The 1/12th scale assembly is designed to

scale building is 23" x 11" when assembled, the one inch scale
building's footprint is 46" x 22" when assembled. This is a three
day class costing $680 in 1/2" scale and $950.00 in 1" scale (please
indicate on your reservation form which scale you would like to do)
and will be quite demanding and hectic but a lot of fun - Long Live
the King! Reservations must be received by MARCH 1, 2010.
