18. THE UNIVERSAL LITTLE ROOM BOX Students will make a basic roombox that can be made into dozens of different rooms; doctors office, dentists office, lawyers lyre, country kitchen, post office, RR station, Laundromat! If you can dream it up we can make it here. The box will be pre-cut solid pine with dovetailed corners and include sliding Plexiglas dust covers. We’ll build in windows, and a door if desired, add wide board flooring, and exposed beamed ceiling. Standard options include tin paneled ceiling, beaded board wall covering, feathered edged paneling and a host of other materials. Students will choose their desired theme ahead of time and each student will custom make their room box in consultation with Ken. Registration must be received by MARCH 1, 2010 to allow plenty of time to acquire and prepare all necessary materials. Lighting is optional and available Tons of great finishing and detailing techniques will be shared. Box size will be 14"w x 8"d x 9"h. |
