10.  1/144 ART DECO HOUSE
Angela Kinnunen
                   Tuesday 9 am - 1 pm                   $100

In this class you will learn how to construct this 1/144 Art Deco house. The house is designed taking inspiration from the art deco period (1920s-1930s) and represents a transition from the more ornate Art Nouveau and Victorian styles, embracing a streamlined, geometric aesthetic with bold colors and luxurious materials. The house can also be used as a hotel and the inner walls are removable, so larger rooms can be made. The front is also removable and fits flush to the house for display alone or in a 1/12th doll house.  There will be hints, tips and techniques for working in this scale and how to decorate.  This class is to teach that this scale is not as intimidating as some may think. It will be fun with no stress.  Size of the house when built: 3.8" wide at the widest point x 3.15" high x 1.22" deep.  If you have favorite tools, blades, a magnifying glass if needed, please bring them.  All other tools will be provided. If you wish to paint as you go along, please bring your favorite colors and small head brushes for fine details.  I will bring a choice of wallpapers if wallpapering is preferred, remembering the engraved doors would be covered at the back of the house.  Please do come join me if you want to learn to build in this scale. It is hands on and for beginners to advanced.

All supplies are provided by the instructor except as indicated, however, students are welcome to bring their own tools & supplies.
