19.  VINTAGE STYLE DISTRESSED SUITCASE (HINGED & LINED)

Join me and make your own 1/12th scale vintage suitcase perfect for adding character and storytelling to your dollshouses, dioramas and scenes. Together we'll build the suitcase body (precut for you from premium polybak), add a functional hinge, line the insides and outside with Artisan G.F. Smith luxury papers and even create our own locks and buckles with lasercut polybak, alcohol ink and acrylic paint. I will also teach you a technique to make a normal sheet of cartridge paper look like old leather which we will then use to line our suitcase edges and corners.  Once assembled we will add vintage travel stickers, tags and I'll teach you techniques for distressing your case to give it a sense of elegant realism and character.  Please bring small sharp scissors.  All materials will be provided but please feel free to bring your own tools to assist you.  This workshop is suitable for beginners but please note that we will be cutting fine strips of paper.
