5.  GARDEN ROSE DISPLAY-COLD PORCELAIN CLAY ART

Create a charming miniature garden rose bouquet in 1-inch scale using cold porcelain.  Learn how to sculpt and assemble a delicate bouquet inspired by the abundance and natural beauty of an English cottage garden. We will create several varieties of miniature garden roses in soft cream, warm ivory, golden yellow and deep burgundy, complemented by tiny white flowers, buds and delicate greenery.  Working entirely in cold porcelain, we will explore techniques for creating realistic petals, shaping and layering rose flowers, forming tiny buds and foliage, and assembling the individual elements into a naturally arranged miniature bouquet.  Particular attention will be given to scale, color, texture and composition, allowing each tiny flower to retain a convincing botanical appearance even at 1-inch scale. We will also create the delicate lace wrapping and finish the bouquet as a charming miniature floral arrangement.

All supplies are provided by the instructor except as indicated, however, students are welcome to bring their own tools & supplies.
