28.  VICTORIAN TABLE CABINET c1880

Chris Malcomson

Wednesday, Thursday 9a-5p                $270

Size. 1.5” tall. 1” wide.  3/4” deep.  This type of furniture became very popular during the late Victorian period where everything became more compact for city living.

This example is richly decorated with marquetry making it a little bit extra special.

Students will first make the cabinet work from a cutting list and then move on to the many aspects of veneering and marquetry. The workshop is designed to give students as broad a knowledge of marquetry as possible which can later be used on your own projects….Its fun and amazing all at the same time.

The tools we’ll be using are little more than a sturdy utility knife and cutting board.

The class is suitable for all levels.

ALL SUPPLIES ARE PROVIDED BY THE INSTRUCTORS EXCEPT AS INDICATED,

HOWEVER, STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO BRING THEIR OWN TOOLS & SUPPLIES.
