#3.  MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME ROOMBOX

Our model has been decorated to represent a snapshot of a typical Medieval/Tudor home, by putting your own personal stamp on this you can transform it into anything from Shakespeare's home to a witches lair to a contemporary bookshop or tearoom. There is a large main room with an outdoor area as well as an ante chamber. You will learn several techniques as you create a stone floor, daubed walls, a planked floor and a corner fireplace which can be converted to a cooking range.  As ever, we will be teaching several techniques which apply to this class but are easily transferable to other miniature project. You will learn how, with a bit of imagination, lateral thinking and using different finishing techniques you can totally change the look of a project. You will receive 2 free lights with the class, one wall sconce and an LED but there will be others for sale at the show.  The workshop is available in both 1/12th and 1/24th scale, please indicate on the booking form which scale you would like. The structure is designed to be ‘travel friendly’ measuring 15” x 22” x 9.5” (in 1/12th scale), it will fit into a large, airline approved suitcase. A removable stand will add approximately 2” to the height if assembled.  We have used some AI in the photos to enhance the lighting and assist with the props in order to give you some inspiration as to how you might finish your project, rest assured the rest of the work is all ours! We have shown the roombox dressed as a witches lair and a cafe to encourage you to use your imagination!!

 

All supplies are provided by the instructor except as indicated,

however, students are welcome to bring their own tools & supplies.
