56.  GERRIT RIETVELD’S 1918 RED BLUE CHAIR FROM MOMA

You will build a 1:12 scale version of Gerrit Rietveld’s Red Blue chair.  Gerrit Rietveld’s Red Blue, currently on display at the MOMA, had a profound influence on the art world and furniture builders at the time.  Rietveld believed there was a greater goal for the furniture designer than just physical comfort: the well-being and comfort of the spirit.   You will assemble the chair from precut parts and once it is built, will paint it.  All parts, tools, and paints will be provided

ALL SUPPLIES ARE PROVIDED BY THE INSTRUCTORS EXCEPT AS INDICATED, 

HOWEVER, STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO BRING THEIR OWN TOOLS & SUPPLIES.
