36.  The Hollow Body Guitar

Glen Anderson
Thursday 9a-1p                $135

In this workshop, we will be building a 1:12 scale hollow body electric guitar. Students will have an opportunity to assemble and apply finishes to their guitars. As a class we will build the guitar body and attach the neck, add the pickups, controls and keys as well as put together and mount the fret board. Once your guitar is assembled, we will add the strings and if there is time, have a mini concert. This class is going to require working with and assembling some very small parts. The ability to do some minor carving will be helpful, but not necessary and some form of magnifying tool or goggles will be very useful. There is also quite a bit of fine sanding of delicate parts. I will have lots of extra pieces if needed, but I would suggest that this class would be best attempted by someone with intermediate or better skills.

ALL SUPPLIES ARE PROVIDED BY THE INSTRUCTORS EXCEPT AS INDICATED, HOWEVER, STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO BRING THEIR OWN TOOLS & SUPPLIES.
