52A. LEATHER STEAMPUNK SATCHEL
Deb Mackie Thursday Evening 5:30p-9:30p $110
CANCELLED
This classic leather bag is hand crafted using patters based on the real thing. Starting with 2oz vegetable-tanned tooling leather, students will learn techniques for working leather in miniature, such as tooling, faux stitching, dyeing and skiving (thinning the leather). They will create the hand-tooled steampunk design, then skive, dye and assemble the bag with a goatskin gassed, adjustable kangaroo leather strap with working brass buckle and several bass studs. The outside flap is held closed with a magnet and has decorative straps with brass buckles and studs. The finished bag measures approximately 1 inch wide by 1 inch tall and 1/4 inch deep.
